GCAPP is really good at spreading awareness and also good at actually listening to what teens are saying.  This was the first time I have actually felt like someone was listening and my voice was being heard. And it’s not that they are listening and doing nothing with it. They hear you. I have gained a lot more confidence to speak out on my behalf and for my peers. Serving as a GCAPP Youth Advisory Council member I’ve been able to develop my leadership skills, practice networking, and most importantly gain confidence while speaking on panels and presenting information! Plus, I’ve been able to do all of this while advocating for youth, access to healthcare, and health equity, which are three of my interests. I truly believe that GCAPP is setting me up for success as a future epidemiologist and health educator. I am excited to continue this journey with GCAPP.

Working with GCAPP, I have learned what it truly means to be dedicated to a cause and/or organization and the importance of standing for something. I have enjoyed working with such intelligent and passionate young men and women across the state of Georgia. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve and I know many young people will benefit from GCAPP for years to come.
